That's an option worth discussing! And I appreciate it as well. I'll get you my contact info, so we can talk. Take care.

Race Updates & Event Photos / Caliente 250

So like the last thread that blew up and went another direction, I will start it exactly the same. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOT RACING BITD, you can join myself and others out at the SNORE Caliente 250. Trophylite are very competitive here already winning one event this season. This is a very beautiful place to race, in my opinion the coolest place to run all year in any series. SNORE also offers a cash bonus to each class based on entries and is a third of the cost to enter. Hope to see some other sitting TL trucks dust off some cobb webs and come out!

Ditto, Trophylite's strength is as a group.  Changing the truck isn't going to change anything other then divide people.  They are tricky to drive at times but when you get them set up to your driving style they are fast and fun little trucks.  I heard something about a "fire sale" I know for me I made the decision before the season started, I let Rick and those around me know so it would catch anyone off guard.  I know Jeff also planned on selling at the end of the season and George's truck was already for sale so "fire sale".  Thanks to the reputation and brand awareness of Trophylite our trucks all sold within a week of each other and for the price that we wanted.  If my truck didn't sell for what I wanted to sell it for I wasn't going to sell it, I would have gladly kept it and tried to come out to a race or two jus for fun.  Trophylite in my opinion is the best way to go race a competitive class where victory is decided by seconds and the racing doesn't end until you see the checkered flag.  I know Jason and the entire Cobb family has put a lot into TL to continue the heritage and make it the best they can.  There are a lot of unexpected changes this year from what I understand but change is good!  if nothing ever changed we would have a the class we have today.  If anyone ever has questions about TL and where it is going I would encourage you to call Jason and let him tell you what he is doing.  What other class of racers share parts, pits and have huge pot luck BBQ's?  I have made some great friends through TL and if anyone wants to talk shop about suspension etc. I am always available.

Silver State is coming!! who's going to win?  I have my $$ on Spitz

Great response! I totally get the $$ part. I even agree with wanting to race other series for the adventure & cost or even prize purse payout which you can still do without changing your trucks. If SNORE is paying a great bonus at Caliente to come try their races, I think you should go check it out. Then see if they will pay the same bonus at all the races or select ones for next year and vote to put it on the schedule for next year.

The thing I find crazy is that someone is suggesting to ban together to switch series when this same person was adamant about ONLY racing BITD in the past because of sponsor commitments , professionalism.

The other thing I find crazy is wanting to get away from supporting spec sponsors . Ya, you might get a free set of wheels or a light bar and some swag to switch products and call it your "Sponsor" but what about the other guys in the class? Then you are just racing for a returned portion of your entry fee's truck count each race instead of built up prize purse. Also, BITD gives 1 free entry to each race for TL to add to their prize purse give away's. That is a huge sponsorship for the class.

Do you guy's realize that having spec sponsors for the class is good for everyone and offers a fair chance for you all to win more money & prizes as well as help sustain revenue for the series? No other class has this.

Having your own Trophylite series with rules, own tech, own parts support, solid entry numbers, repor of guranteed spec product sales value, marketing, social media, video's, this and other items has a worth and carry's value and awareness. It also increases the value of your own truck's worth. I am not sure why you would want to "FIRE SALE" your truck right now unless its an emergency situation. People are looking to buy to get involved in TL and new trucks are being built.

Do you guy's realize that the TL class , the trucks and the organization are only as good as how you support and represent it?

We have a Drivers Meeting section that this thread /subject should be moved to talk more about, this category is about race updates and event photos. Gene , can you do that?

My .02, My decision to go to snore was about $$. My team needs some practice before we dish out the big bucks for bitd. It had nothing to do with jason and trophylite. To be honest there are things that I donít agree with or unhappy with with this program but this is a new business to jason. He just came into it and with any business it takes time to figure everything out. Trial and error is to be expected but instead of trying to destroy his investment and ours letís give him a chance. Letís offer suggestions, have driver meetings to discuss options for parts, ideas, costs, rules etc. this is a huge ordeal Iím sure for Jason and family. I just bought my truck in December and followed TL for two years before deciding. I talked to jason prior to purchase and felt very confident with his plan for TL and thatís why I proceeded with the purchase. Yes I was very unhappy to learn I now had to dish out $$ on tires and wheels after I just bought the truck but I sold the old ones to offset the purchase of the new ones  quite a bit. Of course things havenít all come together just yet but I know when I first started my business I upset people and made some decisions that I thought was for the best but turned out not going as planned. New business new ideas and plans require trial and error.  I also know I am upset with bitd like a lot of you are with the races this season but jason has busted his ass to resolve issues and change things for next season. These bitd issues are not Jasonís fault but he does go to bat for us with bitd, canít win them all.
I have spoke to Jason on parts costs in the past that I thought were questionable and and we were able to work things out. I hear the rumors out there and some might be true and some are false but letís help OUR investment by helping Jason and TL. We cannot always please everyone 100% but give him a chance to build what he in visions and what we as drivers all wanted when we got into this class.
Jason how about a thread for ideas and suggestions? We just need to keep in mind they are suggestions and it still needs to make sense from a business standpoint. Maybe explain to us drivers the fees that you need to put out to get things set up. Iím sure itís all been said before but a refresher might be good. I think everyone has some ideas, letís throw them out there and see where it goes.
Iím here to learn and race and have fun with my son. I sure donít want to see anyoneís hard earned money go down the drain and that goes for all teams and Jason.
Remind me never to write a novel on my phone again, pain in the ass.

Really?? I can't believe this. Why would you want to try and disassemble all the years of hard work ? Do you really want to make the class like all the others out there? I think you are crazy for even suggesting this when you guys have great momentum going right now. This is exactly what lead to the failure of Protruck after 10 years.

Nobody is widening their trucks to race in the TL series, stop it. There was a kit being worked on when Foutz owned TL and I could see a possible interest in the future if a new engine / trans combo was introduced but it is not legal now.

Tires-I made 2 tires legal to try and get BFG on board as a spec tire company, it didn't work. GT reduced their sponsorship with TL but still paid a good contingency to TL class. I was working on a spec tire deal and would have also changed the 2 tire deal back to a single spec tire. It is what is best for a spec class. Now you have a spec tire company that is actually putting good prize money into your series-why wouldn't you support that? Same with the wheel company.

Lights are mandated as spec MFG to pay into the spec prize purse concept, I wouldn't be so quick to open it up to all MFG, big mistake.

I understand if you don't want to spend the money to race BITD and the TL series but don't start a coup because you are unhappy with the rules, spec sponsors or series.

I agree with Rick, I think this new plan will likely backfire on all of us if you continue to pursue it-just my 2cents....
