General Discussion / Legacy Baja Nevada
« on: April 02, 2021, 01:55:43 PM »
Race 2 on the TL schedule is probably ... most likely going to be the Legacy Baja Nevada. Jason has had some issues securing the dates for the NATS at the flying E so that race may not happen but I'm not ready to give up hope yet.
Who's in who's out for Baja Nevada?

General Discussion / Vapor Locking and Silver State 300
« on: June 14, 2020, 06:29:48 PM »
Be aware of the possibility of vapor locking going into this race. Take a look through this thread as to how John Ferrari #6013 was able to solve his issue.

If you have solved your vapor locking issue when racing in the heat and elevation how did you do it?

General Discussion / Blue Rear Facing Lights
« on: June 25, 2018, 05:50:57 AM »
FYI our MORE & SNORE Racers: In California, our rear facing blue (used to ID slower paced vehicles) light is illegal. Initially MORE asked racers to shut off or disable the light but this made it impossible to identify of a slower paced car in the dust. So MORE has decided to go with a green light and in their document attached, SNORE will allow this as an alternative to the more common blue light.

I saw this on RDC under the July MORE race topic and it has a link: Rear Facing Light Requirements 2018 and it links to the attached but all of the info in that doc is from 2017 so not sure how all of that works out in the end. A heads up regardless.

General Discussion / Hook & Ladder Enduro Fundraising Event
« on: January 22, 2017, 10:40:17 AM »
After the MINT '400' please consider joining the Fire Dept family for a weekend of fun and camaraderie. This is a fundraising event for the benefit of the LAFD Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firemen's Fund. Last year the event raised more than $30,000 from sponsors and donations and they would love to beat that number in 2017.

Founded more than a century ago by firefighters who “passed the boot” to help an injured or fallen comrade, the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund is a 501(c)(3) managed by the Los Angeles Firemen's Relief Association.

The 8th Annual "Hook and Ladder Enduro" is a family fun event to be held in California City on Saturday March 18, 2017.

It is open to all ages and experience levels.
Open to any type of off-road vehicle / motorcycle.
No previous experience necessary.

This will be a fun, family oriented event and will be held on two marked courses approximately 25 and 30 miles long. It will be a "blind bogey" type of event - each class will have an unknown time that you will try to match. The closest three times in each class will receive trophies.

If you don't feel like you can attend you can always make a tax deductible donation.

Hook and Ladder Enduro Camp Coordinates

Directions on the FB page are a little different and somewhat confusing for me so I mapped them out on google maps based off of where the camp is located. If you use google maps coordinate to get there it could pop up different directions but I'm just not too sure how accessible the roads would be.

Via 395
18.5 miles north from Kramer Jct turn left (20 Mule Team Pkwy)
West 6 miles to dirt road, turn left (Tulane st)
South 2 miles to dirt road, turn left (Rice ave)
Rice Ave 1 mile and will curve around to the south leading you to the Hook and Ladder Enduro Camp

Via Hwy14
14 north to Mojave to 14/58 Jct
Keep right, 14 North to Bishop
North 5 miles to California City Blvd. turn right
East 10 miles to Randsburg/Mojave Rd. turn left
North-east 1.3 miles Randsburg/Mojave turns into 20 Mule Team Pkwy. keep right
North-east 11.5 miles to dirt road, turn right (bucknell rd)
South 1.1 miles to dirt road, turn left (rice ave)
Rice Ave 3.75 miles and will curve around to the south leading you to the Hook and Ladder Enduro Camp

Hope to see you out there.
